What You’ll Do

As a Mechanic Assistant, you’ll help keep our fleet of buses in top condition. You’ll perform preventive maintenance, and support the team to ensure safe, reliable transit for everyone.

Some Details:

  • Check buses and ensure buses are in safe operating condition; perform repairs or hold buses as needed.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance service on electric, gas and diesel-powered vehicles and diagnoses problems.
  • Change, repair and replace tires and brakes; rotate and balance tires; perform front end alignments.
  • Diagnose and repair wheelchair lifts.
  • Replace parts as necessary; rebuild bus parts, tie rod assemblies, etc.
  • Pick up parts; clean shop regularly.

Qualifications


  • At least 19 years old
  • A valid driver’s license
  • A good driving record
  • A high school diploma or GED
  • 1+ year of experience or training in vehicle/equipment maintenance

No bus-driving experience is necessary, but you do need to have a good driving record!
