Steppin' Out returns to Blacksburg August 7-8. See how BT service is impacted, and find the best way to ride to the festival.
One of Blacksburg’s most popular events, Steppin’ Out, is back! During the festival, several BT routes will operate on detours.
Riders should be aware that the following routes will experience detours, beginning with the start of service Friday, August 7, through the end of service on Saturday, August 8 (BT will resume normal route service on Sunday, August 9th).
The affected routes are SMS, SMA, SME, and HDG.
SMS, SMA, & SME:
All bus stops on Main St. between Washington St. and Turner St. will be closed.
A temporary stop at the Draper Rd. and Clay St. intersection will serve the downtown area.
HDG:
All stops on Roanoke St. will be closed, as well as the Main St./Clay Nbnd stop.
A temporary stop at the Owens St. and Harding Ave. intersection will serve riders who normally use the Roanoke St. stops.
Festival attendees can also use the BMR route to travel between the Chicken Hill parking lots and the Newman Library. The route will operate every 15 minutes, with the last pick up from Newman Library at 10 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday.
